Mike Pomp is a broadcast veteran for over 30 years, spending his 29th year here at WTSN. At the 2012 New Hampshire Association of Broadcaster’s annual banquet, Mike was recognized as NH’s Radio Personality of the Year. Mike was also recently awarded the 2009 New Hampshire Broadcaster of the Year by the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters. He currently is the News Director at WTSN Radio and host of the awarding winning “Open Mike” Talk show heard weekday mornings at 11. Mike recently received the Associated Press Talk Show of the Year award for his coverage of the December 2008 ice storms and most recently was awarded New Hampshire Talk show of the year for 2010. Mike is also the host of the WTSN Morning Information Center heard weekdays from 5:30-9am
Mike is originally from New Jersey and has been a transplanted New Englander since 1973. His education background includes a Bachelors Degree from Rutgers University and a Masters Degree from Emerson College in Boston.
When he is not entertaining and informing on the radio, Mike can be seen throughout the year on New Hampshire Public Television as host of their yearly fundraising auctions and spokesperson for their membership campaigns. He has also hosted New Hampshire Outlook, the award winning public affairs program on New Hampshire Public Television.
Mike is currently on the Board of Directors of the Players Ring Theatre group in Portsmouth, N.H., and since 1984 he’s been an actor in a variety of plays and musicals. Mike also performs as an Emcee for weddings, parties, and corporate functions through his mobile DJ company “Music on Wheels.”
